On the outside, this silver Z3 M coupe looks totally stock, right down to the staggered BMW style 40 wheels. It's only when you pop open the clamshell hood when things get interesting.
The owner thought it would be a good idea to swap out the factory 3.2-liter M3 straight-six and drop in a drivetrain from an E39-generation M5. That means a 400-horsepower 5.0-liter V8 connected to a six-speed manual transmission sending power to the rear wheels a limited-slip differential.
Additional modifications include adjustable coilovers, AP Racing brakes, and a dry-sump oiling system. The owner reportedly had to fabricate custom engine and transmission mounts to get everything secured nicely. We're sure it's a blast to drive.
